Late-work rules follow the HSFI Grading & Retake Policy guide. Retake rules use the updated retake document, with the 2-week window starting when feedback is received. Your teacher confirms eligibility and arrangements. Retakes are a privilege and are not guaranteed.

In-class practice: No make-up if absent or late.

Take-home practice: May be submitted in person 1 school day late.

Performance assignments: Within 1 week of the due date. After 1 school day late, a signed explanatory note is required.

Late-work cutoff: No late work during the last 2 school days of the marking period.

Retakes / revisions: Submit within 14 calendar days of receiving feedback, and by the semester cutoff, whichever comes first. Last day for Fall 2026: January 11, 2027. Last day for Spring 2027: May 31, 2027.

You must have attempted the original and received specific feedback, OR have documentation from a medical professional excusing the original timeframe, OR have direct teacher permission. You must also complete all required practice / preparation.

If you have medical documentation or teacher permission but no feedback date, ask your teacher to confirm when your 2-week window begins. Retakes are not automatically approved and do not guarantee a higher grade.
